Week 4: April 21-27th
Any week where there are 4 Dirty Fuentes (2 to the same
team) and 2 Zach Grienke’s is going to be a weird one, and this was no
exception. Several teams played well, and several other were quite rancid. Let’s
get into it.

-This was just an ugly, ugly game. The DLA seemed to be
unable to put the bat on the ball outside of their 12 homers, while the power
outage for the Empire continued into another week despite the return of Adrian
Beltre from the DL. The commish tried to counter the 12 projected starts for DL
pitching staff (pre-Chris Sale taking a break) by streaming all week, ending
with a disastrous 5.63 ERA for the week. Both teams will just quietly move on
and pretend this never happened.

Sax lost IP and QS by .1 and 1 respectively. Just saying. |
The dominance of the pitching stats by No Idea covers up
what was actually a very close match-up. The Sax smashed the ball with 13 HR
and a gaudy 51 RBI’s, but couldn’t overcome 70 IP for 2.83 ERA and 1.19 WHIP by
the winners. Easily the game of the week, despite it being a Tiger Blood win
for NI. Hard to say what could have happened if Pineda hadn't panicked and went to the pine tar.
MVP: Masahiro Tanaka 13.2 IP 2.63 ERA 11.85 K/9
LVP: Michael Pineda: Ejected and suspsended for doping the ball

Rooters looked like they were on the way to their first win
going into the weekend, before a big comeback snatched it away. It was closely
contested in all categories. The Visquels win was highlighted with some serious
speed, scoring 12 steals compared to 9 for the Rooters, and a dominant pitching
performance led by Adam Wainwright.

Another day, another win for the impressive BO squad. This
was another strong matchup across the board, as exemplified by the 11 HR to 10
category win. Strong pitching really decided this one, as 10 QS, 6 SV, and a
2.72 ERA proved unbeatable.

"My bad, dog." |
-Danger Zone recorded a strong hitting performance in each
of the counting stats, along with 10 QS, a 2.5 ERA, and 86 IP on the pitching
side. The Wahoos were right there with
him the whole way, but didn’t quite tip the scales in a few categories to get
the win. Also, this had the rare instance of one player smashing a teammate both in real life and fantasy in the face with a bat. So, you got that going for ya. Which is nice.
MVP: Mike Trout 1HR .429 OBP .520 SLG
LVP: Carlos Gonzalez .091 OBP .091 SLG 0R
Commisioner’s Note: This upcoming week has only89 games in
it, due in part to the Interleague Schedule irregularities. What effect this
will have on scoring I’m unsure, but don’t plan on playing the long-game with
only 5 games on Monday and Thursday.
